Corning® SunSensors® Lens Drilling Information
Purpose:
1. When doing three-piece rimless frames it is best to use polycarbonate lenses for maximum durability. However, other plastic lenses can successfully be drilled, mounted, and dispensed if certain precautions are taken.
· Use a bur-type drill bit vs. a twist drill bit.

· Drill slowly through the material. If a CNC or other automated drilling machine is used, set the feed rate on the polycarbonate mode.
· Chamfer the lens at the drill holes on the front and back with a cone-shaped
stone Dremel tool or a Lens Cutting Broach.
· Use nylon Top Hat Bushings in the holes for cushioning.
· Do not over-tighten the screws.
· Use the appropriate pliers for frame stability and support when adjusting.
